Goal setting is important for effective execution of our plans. When there is a goal then we have an aim to complete. We can divide our goals into three parts.
Long Term Goals : The goals which span for more than a year or a year are called long term goals. For example
What will I become in the future?
Which position will I acquire in this class?
Medium Term Goals : The goals which span for months or weeks are called medium term goals. For example :
What position will I acquire in Half Yearly?
Which short term course will I do this month?
Daily goals : As discussed in our article Time Table, we make a to-do list each day. This to-do list has tasks which are to be completed daily. Such goals are called daily goals.
Every small goal is part of a bigger goal. As when we study for class tests we prepare for our half yearly and annual simultaneously. When we get good marks in each class then our base is strong for our future academic years. We acquire good ranks in different competitive examinations.
So, using our Time Table and Goal Setting we can make our life easier and prosperous.
Time Table
We are going to discuss the time table in this article. First of all let us discuss, what is a timetable?
A time table summarizes what we are going to do in a day. There are two kinds of time tables. First one is a short range time table and the other is a long range time table. The long range time table has the schedule for the different kinds of activities we are going to do in a day. Then the short range time table describes what is the topic of the activities we are going to do in the day.
For example, let us make a time table
First we will write about the different time intervals of the day. As shown in the following table
4:00 - 5:00 AM | |
5:00 - 6:00 AM | |
6:00 - 7:00 AM | |
7:00 - 8:00 AM | |
8:00 - 9:00 AM | |
9:00 - 10:00 AM | |
10:00 - 11:00 AM | |
11:00 - 12:00 PM | |
12:00 - 1:00 PM | |
1:00 - 2:00 PM | |
2:00 - 3:00 PM | |
3:00 - 4:00 PM | |
4:00 - 5:00 PM | |
5:00 - 6:00 PM | |
6:00 - 7:00 PM | |
7:00 - 8:00 PM | |
8:00 - 9:00 PM | |
9:00 - 10:00 PM | |
10:00 - 4:00 AM |
Then we will fill the table with different activities.
4:00 - 5:00 AM | Study Session I |
5:00 - 6:00 AM | Study Session I |
6:00 - 7:00 AM | Getting ready for school |
7:00 - 8:00 AM | In School |
8:00 - 9:00 AM | |
9:00 - 10:00 AM | |
10:00 - 11:00 AM | |
11:00 - 12:00 PM | |
12:00 - 1:00 PM | |
1:00 - 2:00 PM | |
2:00 - 3:00 PM | Back to Home / Lunch |
3:00 - 4:00 PM | Study Session II |
4:00 - 5:00 PM | Rest |
5:00 - 6:00 PM | Play |
6:00 - 7:00 PM | Study Session III |
7:00 - 8:00 PM | Study Session III |
8:00 - 9:00 PM | Dinner |
9:00 - 10:00 PM | Study Session IV |
10:00 - 4:00 AM | Sleep |
When we have made the time table. Then, we fill in the details of the study session everyday in our to-do list. The to-do list is updated everyday as per the requirement of the time.
We reserve the study session I, which is in the morning, for learning various chapters. We reserve the study session II for the homework. We reserve the study session III for reading the chapters and doing the homework which requires through reading of the chapter. Study session IV is reserved for revising what we have learnt in the whole day.
We should observe the following things while studying.
Take a five minute break for each 25 minutes of study.
Follow the Eat that frog strategy. This strategy states that we should do that work first which is most important to us. Then the next important thing after that is the lesser important things.
7 hours of sleep is necessary for being healthy.
If you have followed the time table rigidly then you can have the weekend to enjoy.
You can allot time in the weekend for those things which are left in the week.
